February 22 - Ash Wednesday Worship
7 pm. Begin the Lenten Season with worship this year. Pastor Craig and Director of Children’s Ministry Laura Schwarcz are planning a worship that will include all ages. No matter your age or experience you will not want to miss this Inauguration to Great Lent. Nursery care will be provided but parents are encouraged to bring the children to worship. Worship will be held in the main sanctuary and will feature music and a short message by Pastor Craig along with the imposition of ashes.

February 24 - Southwest Community Center
Southwest Community Center provides food and clothing for the needy and transient. Hot noonday meals are provided every day of the week by volunteer organizations. Our church's time is the fourth Friday of every month. Friday, February 24th is our next scheduled time. There are various ways to help. You may cook, drive, serve, or clean up. A detailed list of meal needs is available at the office table on Sundays. If you feel called to be a part of this worthy project please contact Barbara Mosher at 582-8263 or the church office. All food needs to be to the Shepherd kitchen by 10:30 am on our scheduled Fridays.

February 26 - Eucharist Sunday, One Great Hour of Sharing
Holy Communion will be served at all three services. Our Communion offering will go towards One Great Hour of Sharing. Our gifts provide major support of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which aids in ongoing ministries of food, shelter, health and peace as well as assisting in the wake of disasters. One Great Hour of Sharing giving allows 100 percent of designated gifts to be used for the specified disaster response of other ministry.

February 26 - Cooperative Parish Checkpoint
5:30 p.m. Join us for our second Cooperative Parish Checkpoint. The gathering of both churches begins at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner followed by a series of presentations about how a variety of ministries between both churches plan to work together leading up to and following our proposed merger. Among the groups reporting are the Outreach/Mission Ministries. Resource Team (Finances and Trustees), Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Adult Discipleship, Communications & Publicity, and Lay Leadership. The evening will close by 7:30 p.m. Should you have questions, please contact Pastor Craig at revcraig@sothumc.org.

Lenten Dinners - Facing our Greatest Obstacles
Wednesdays, 6:15 - 7:45 pm, February 29 - March 28. Walking in Victory: Facing Our Greatest Obstacles Make plans this Lent to discover how God leads us to a life of victory. While Lent often focuses us on inward disciplines there are other factors that can have just as big of an impact on our growth as people. This year for Lent Pastor Craig will be leading a series designed to help you face those long--‐ standing obstacles in your life so you can be live in the victory that God has for you. Take a look at the topics for each week and make plans to join the victory!
February 29 – Defeating Unhealthy Habits
March 7 – Facing Forgiveness
March 14 – Conquering Stress & Anxiety
March 21 – Overcoming Greed & Materialism
March 28 – Becoming Selfless
Each week will begin with a simple dinner for the entire family. After the meal children will be dismissed for a special children’s ministry program while Pastor Craig will lead the adults. Please be prepared to bring a small donation each week to help with the cost of the meal.
