Explorers Club

Designed for 3rd to 5th graders, this "junior" youth group meets every other Wednesday at 6:30 pm and on designated Sundays for service projects and field trips (at top, a trip to "Sky High").

Ali Lotito joins Laura Schwarcz as co-director of Explorers this year. Ali has been Shepherd's 3rd-5th grade Sunday school teacher, has helped at VBS, and assisted with Explorers this past year.

This year we will be learning the parables that Jesus told. We will be taking those parables and learning how they apply to our everyday lives. We also will be taking part in several service projects throughout the year.

Once a quarter, the group participates in fellowship activities which can range from ice skating, strawberry picking, kayaking at the lake, etc., in order to help continue building community and friendships. These will cost approx. $5 to $10 a child, and take place on Sundays after the third service.

Explorers Club programs are from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the Wednesdays listed, except activities listed in bold. Schedule is subject to change.

January 18^th-  Regular Explorers

February 4^th: Saturday- Explorers Service Project at SOTHUMC at 8am-11am. The kids will be participating in the All Church Work Day

February 8^th – Regular Explorers

February 15^th- Regular Explorers

February 18^th: Saturday Night: Explorers Drive-In Movie Night held at SOTHUMC from 5:00pm- 8:00pm

February 21^st: Shrove Tuesday Event starting at 5:00pm at SOTHUMC for the whole Family.

February 22^nd: Ash Wednesday Service starting at 7:00pm-7:45pm in the Youth Lounge. 

Children’s Lenten Series: February 29^th, March 7^th, 14^th, 21^st, 28^th

No regular Explorers. The Lenten Series will be for 4 years-5^th graders. Childcare for under 4 will be available in the Nursery 

April 18^th: Regular Explorers Club Resume's 

April 22^nd: Sunday- Explorers Outing. Meet at SOTHUMC at 12:30pm for lunch and then we will be going to Orange Roller Skating, and will return by 4:00pm

April 25^th: Regular Explorers

May 9^th: Regular Explorers

May 20^th: Sunday- Explorers Outing, meet at SOTHUMC at 12:30pm for lunch. Event TBD.

May 23^rd: Regular Explorers

May 30^th: Regular Explorers

June 6^th: Last, Regular Explorers

June 9^th: Explorers Family Beach Day ( Saturday at 10:00am-3:00pm, beach and details TBD).
